More than simply a place to live,
a home is a reflection of who we are
and how we choose to live our lives.
Our Community Living residential service helps people with disabilities create a home that meets their individual needs and fosters their dreams of living as independently as possible.
There's No Place Like Home
Community Living is a residential service tailored to the unique needs of each person. Individuals live in apartments or homes of their choosing, rather than a group home environment. While some people may receive a few hours of support a week—which can even be provided in the parents’ home—others need 24-hour-per-day supports.
Services are based in Central and Eastern Indiana. Noble staff will even help individuals find appropriate housemates. To achieve cost efficiencies and maximize the dollars available, the state of Indiana recommends that individuals receiving 24-hour-per-day supports have two housemates.
Individuals with developmental disabilities who receive funding through the Developmental Disability (DD), Autism, Aged and Disabled, and Traumatic Brain Injury waivers are eligible for Community Living services. Through a person-centered planning process, the individual's support team identifies the person's needs and goals, and develops the Individual Support Plan. This plan is submitted to the state, which uses it to determine the person's Medicaid Waiver budget. THis budget determines the level of support received. Individuals are responsible for paying for their living expenses and for furnishing their homes, although Noble may have some donated items available.
Staff members undergo extensive ongoing training to help them meet the needs of the people we serve. Individual-specific training is also a key element of staff training.
